Tits up Alex. Love this compilation of so many aspects of your loves, compulsions, and for me Mrs Maisel and Susie the magnificent duo eating popcorn in their elder years remaining friends til the credits finish running. Tits up❤️

Ha! They totally did "Tits Up" at the the event! It was magnificent! I wept during that whole final episode as I thought about their lifelong friendship. I think my favorite episode from that season is the one where Susie is getting fetted/roasted and we get a whole retrospective of her and they reconcile at the end. It was just glorious. So, yes! Tits up for us all!

Thank you so much! Words are my first love but photography is up there too. It's great that Substack allows us to bring them together so seamlessly!

I still obsessively read the "how to travel with only a carry-on" articles - but I've finally accepted I'm a "pack everything and check two bags" girlie. How could I possibly go to a writing retreat without my three best hoodies + my favorite slippers + all my journals/stickers/highlighters + something fancy just in case???

Great post and also great to know that this conference was so good!

Thanks so much! And I'm glad you're feeling comfortable with the two bags. At some point we have to come to terms with who we are and like it, I think. Also, how lovely that you have writing hoodies and slippers! Something fancy. Yes! Every time!

AWP is in Baltimore next year. Depending on where you live, it might be worth it to check it out!

My parents travel heavy too, so the photo with all those suitcases inspired a lot of nostalgia. What a lovely read, thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much! So glad it brings up nostalgia for you as opposed to dread. Ha ha! I wonder if you'll end up being a heavy traveler too?

Thanks for this. I love that you didn’t approach, interrupt, or photograph your show runner. An unexpectedly quiet and respectful story turn!

Thanks! I give people their space unless they're on stage or presenting at panels, at which point, I think it's helpful for them to have their public performances amplified. It must be so hard to go through life with people interrupting you all the time when you're just trying to shop or walk or (yikes) pee!

I had no idea what I was in for even years later, when the car part orders started rolling in.
